Jim Brown #1 & Barry Sanders #2 in My Mind

When I was younger, I had a friend named Louis Ferrier aka B-O-B that I always used to tell that Emmitt Smith is a better running than Barry Sanders and I did not believe and I used to do that to him to aggravate him.Even though I don't believe Emmitt Smith is the best running back ever, I told a friend of mine that you can't hate on him because he was durable and productive so he at least deserved a picture. NO VIDEO TRIBUTE THOUGH!!!!!

Emmitt Smith

Barry Sanders

Notables: Edgerrin James 11th, L. Tomlinson 14th , Fred Taylor 16th, Warrick Dunn 19th

Jim Brown (5.2 YPC, 104.3 YPG,118 games), Barry Sanders (5.0 YPC, 99.8 YAG, 153 games)YPC and YPG are the two telling statistics for me. Jim Brown and Barry Sanders are #1 and #2 in those two stats. Also, Jim Brown never missed a game in his career

In the words of Bill Parcel's "with that being said Emmitt Smith clearly has the record and is deserving of such; however we can't forget the Barry Sanders was essentially forced out of the game (due to the fact the Lions would not trade him nor but a supporting cast around him) when he clearly had several good years ahead of him. He should be the all time rushing leader but as I mentioned earlier "you are what your record says you are."

Mel,

I would say that he does have the most yards but he is not the best back.
