DARIO AKA THE REALIST WRITES
Manny Pacquiao has a chance to win a major title in a record seventh weight class when he faces welterweight titleholder Miguel Cotto on Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach has predicted a knockout by the Filipino southpaw when he challenges Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto for the WBO welterweight title next month. Roach had initially forecast the November 14 bout in Las Vegas would go the full distance but he has since changed his tune because of his fighter’s impressive work in training camp. Any thoughts on Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto?
INNO RESPONDS:
Miguel Cotto had problems with the relentless pressure of Antonio Margarito. To his credit he did score an impressive knockout victory again a slick, quick, southpaw in Zab "Not so Super Anymore" Judah. Miguel Cotto typically starts off slow and the could be a detriment.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao in his last couple fights against someone of Cotto's Caliber (Manuel Marquez), he fought to a draw and eeked out a decision in two fights. This could mean that Cotto will pose a problem for Pacquiao as Marquez and Cotto have similar styles. The exception is that Cotto is younger and slightly faster.
With that said, I think the dynamic knockout power and Cotto's inability to slip punches will lead to a Pacquiao victory in the 6 round.
